About The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

A TV anime based on Nagaru Tanigawa's novels, in which Kyon, who gets drawn into the "SOS Brigade" formed by the outrageous high school girl Haruhi Suzumiya, steps into the extraordinary together with its members: an alien, a time traveler, and an esper.

The area around Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, the original author's hometown, is the model for the setting. In a campaign by the Anime Tourism Association and JR Central, the clock tower in front of Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station that fans call the "Haruhi Clock," Shukugawa Park, a coffee shop, and others were introduced as pilgrimage spots at the model locations.
