About Nagi-Asu: A Lull in the Sea
An original TV anime produced by P.A.WORKS, set in a world where people live separately in the sea and on land. It depicts the romance and friendship of Hikari Sakishima and three other children, who start attending a land-based junior high school from their sea village, and the people of the surface world.
The Anime Tourism Association's pilgrimage campaign introduces Kumano City and Kihoku Town (Kii-Nagashima) in Mie Prefecture, which are said to be the models for the work. The focus is on seaside towns along the Kumano Sea, such as Atashika Coast and Onigajo in Kumano City, and Hadasu Elementary School, which is said to be the model for Hamichi Junior High School.
